The Trek Musala Team
James Vaughton, our CEO, and an international team have successfully completed their Trek Musala Challenge! The team summited Mount Musala, the highest peak in the Balkans at nearly 3,000 metres high!
Trek Musala Challenge was part of Walk the Balkans and aimed to turn a virtual walk of the Balkans into a reality. The team of varying ages and abilities were amazing, summiting Mount Musala in the Rila Mountains, Bulgaria on the second day of their three-day trek. Led by local guides the team saw amazing wildlife and spectacular views. During the trek team members shared testimonies and we prayed for the Balkans. We specifically spent time praying that God would raise up the next generation of leaders of his church, in the region.
The team was made up of six different nationalities – British, Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Korean and Australian. TEN partner, Dusan Beredi and youth leader, Boris Antic were part of the team and have been raising money for their youth group at Novi Sad Christian Fellowship, Serbia. Together the team were raising funds for the work of TEN and have raised over £6,000. Well done, everyone!
“Thank you James not just for organising, but also for patiently supporting each of us every step of the way. Your gracious spirit didn’t appear to dwindle despite quite literally carrying extra weight on our behalf. I was especially reassured to know you’d got extra first aid and rations on board in case we needed it. It was a terrific experience made all the better by the inspiring company of all of the team. Thanks to all.” – Dan Collins, Trekker.
“I can’t quite believe what I was doing last week. What an amazing few days. Exciting , challenging, very challenging at times , beautiful, uplifting, exhausting , fun and so much more.
